Welcome to SIG 6's Perspectives on Hearing and Hearing Disorders: Research and Diagnostics. The theme of this issue is music perception. The authors look at this topic from different perspectives (pun intended). Two articles consider music perception through devices used by individuals with hearing loss. One article presents information concerning music perception through the lifespan. The fourth article reviews pitch memory, which is an important component of music perception. The contributing authors are Dee Adams Nikjeh and Jennifer J. Lister from the University of South Florida, Marshall Chasin from the Musicians' Clinics of Canada, Kate Gfeller from the University of Iowa, and Robert E. Moore and Julie Estis from the University of South Alabama. We are very grateful to the authors for their time and effort in helping to bring this issue into existence. We also thank our Editor, Richard H. Wilson; our Editorial Review Board (Linda Baumgartner, Chris Sanford, and Marc Brennan); our Continuing Education (CE) Content Manager, Susan Gordon-Hickey; and the CE Committee (Nicole Marrone and Wafaa Kaf). CEUs are one of the main benefits of SIG affiliation, and it would be impossible without the concerted efforts of these individuals.
