Greetings, and welcome to the 1999 issue of the newsletter for Division 6. As the new division Coordinator, I would first like to thank my predecessor, Cynthia Fowler, for her assistance in the transition process. I also appreciate the helpful suggestions offered at various times by the members of the Steering Committee. Finally, on behalf of the affiliates in Division 6, I would especially like to thank Ted Glattke and Brenda Ryals, whose terms on the Committee expire on the final day of December, for their service.
As you may know, there are currently 15 Special Interest Divisions in ASHA. The Coordinators meet as a group three times during the year—twice at the National Office and once at Convention. Thus far, I have attended two meetings of the Board of Division Coordinators. I have learned a lot, both about the various divisions and about ASHA.
